Chris Brown Gets Himself a Slick New Ride: What's the Price Tag?

Chris Brown must think he is the king of the world. The R&B star was seen driving around in a custom Lamborghini, much like the one Tom Cruise drove in the film Top Gun. Bet that cost a pretty penny! The Lamborghini is white in color with stars and stripes all over it. It's pretty impressive and must have cost Chris quite a fortune—but he can afford it after the successful year he has had!Referencing the F-86 Sabre airplane that was flown in the Korean war, the car is really a great accessory and a good investment as well.At only 22, Chris Brown is a massive playboy who flaunts his wealth at every chance he gets. He lost a $22 thousand Rolex at the VMAs and probably wouldn't have cared if he didn't get it back. Now, he's driving around LA in a custom-made Lamborghini. What will be next for the chart-topping singer?

A Gallardo Super Trofeo Strada or street version at the IAA

A new rumor has been going round in the web the last few days, the talk about a Lamborghini Sesto Elemento production model to be unveiled at the upcoming IAA in Frankfurt mid-September has been muted down and now the latest info talks about some kind of super Gallardo to be unveiled as the swansong to this highly successful V10 model.

So what is it going to be now? According to TeamSpeed.com, they received information from Lamborghini officials that could mean we will be seeing some kind of Gallardo Super Trofeo street version on the stand in Germany ... now to be honest this would be a surprise to say the least.

On the 2010 Geneva Auto Show the Gallardo LP570-4 Superleggera has been shown, the top of the line when it comes to V10 powered Lamborghini, later on the Performante joined the club as an open top version of this Superleggera and Lamborghini even released a special Blancpain edition of the LP570-4 as a tribute to the Super Trofeo success back in September 2010.

The differences between a regular Superleggera and the Blancpain edition were subtle, but still very impressive, among other things the massive rear wing from the Super Trofeo race car was mounted as was the different engine cover, add some alcantara inside with the Blancpain logo all over the car, both inside and outside and you've got the limited edition, it looks nice, but perhaps not different enough ... so now we hear about a Gallardo LP590-4 Super Trofeo Strada or something like that.

Some sources state this new Super Trofeo street version will shed another 50 Kg or so compared to the current LP570-4 Superleggera, it will also receive different bodywork especially at the front with a deeper spoiler and most likely a larger rear wing (either optionally or standard). Add this this an increase of 20 hp (hence the LP590-4 name) and we could be looking at a top speed of 210 Mph and acceleration figures of as little as 3.0 seconds to reach 100 Km/h.

Some sources even state this car will be red when unveiled at Frankfurt and will be priced at a hefty $330,000 for a production run of as little as 30 units ... some serious details for a car that only exists in rumors for now ... as usual nothing official has been released, and nobody 'in the known' will comment if asked about this, which is totally normal naturally.

I for one do have some questions about a Super Trofeo Strada to be honest, we all know Reiter Engineering right ? The experts behind the race going Lamborghini models from the Murcielago R-GT and R-SV, but also the Gallardo GT3 race car ... currently this latter one had evolved into an LP600 version ... yep 600 Bhp from the V10 engine, and according to qualified engineers this is about the maximum figure the current V10 engine can cope with if you don't count on turbocharging, so for Lamborghini themselves to release a 590 bhp version would mean they are stretching the engine as far as it will go for street use (note the Super Trofeo race car puts out 'only' 562 Bhp) and the Gallardo successor will receive a modified V10 engine to put some reserve into it again.

And I actually have a second doubt about this LP590-4 Super Trofeo ... it already exists ! Well not completely like these rumors talk about it, but Reiter Engineering has been offering the Super Trofeo Strada kit for a while now.

Take a look at the orange car on this page, the Super Trofeo Strada kit from Reiter Engineering turns any LP560-4 or LP570-4 model into a near perfect Super Trofeo look alike, and it's completely street legal, by the way, it fits the Spyder too ! And while we are talking details ... take a look at the white LP600 race car, wouldn't that amazing looking engine cover fit nicely on a road Gallardo too ? Shouldn't be too difficult to fit I think, and it totally changes the look of the car ... so imagine a Reiter Super Trofeo Strada with that LP600 engine cover and ask them to tune the engine a bit ... you'll end up with something very close to what Automobili Lamborghini SpA could be unveiling at the IAA.

So is all this talking anything to take seriously after all ? When asking some direct questions you get the silent treatment from those that know what 's happening ... a street legal Super Trofeo version question did get a 'you are very close' response according to TeamSpeed, but no details or further elaboration could be recorded ... so it can still go either way : a new limited edition high power Gallardo or a highly modified production version of the Paris concept car looking like a mix between the original Sesto Elemento concept, a Gallardo and a Super Trofeo race car ... and street legal after all ...

If all the other rumors turn into a reality we will be seeing a completely new V10 model to replace the aging Gallardo (keep in mind it was originally introduced back in 2003) at the 2012 Geneva Auto Show, probably called the Cabrera it will change the super car market once again as did the Gallardo, but the new LP700-4 Aventador will also be joined by a Roadster version next year, so my guess would be a new V10 in Geneva and an Aventador Roadster in Paris ... why not ?

Drive the Aventador in Need for Speed, the RUN

At this moment I don't think any customer has already received the keys to his brand new Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 yet, only some test cars have been handed out to various magazines around the world, our local dealer hasn't even received his showroom model ... which if he does, he isn't allowed to sell to the public yet, how about that.

So you've got money to burn, possibly even put down a deposit and you still haven't smelled the new leather and touched that big red cover over the start button ... but things are about to change in few months time.

Up to now you could only admire a 1/18 or 1/43 scale model of the Lamborghini Aventador, but Electronic Arts is finalizing their latest Need for Speed game ... I'm sure most of you will know this long running series of games, the lastest Hot Pursuit version featured cars like the Reventon, the Murciélago LP640 and LP650 Roadster, even the Reventon Roadster was present together with several Gallardo models like the LPP560, the Spyder derivative, the Balboni limited edition and the LP570-4 Superleggera evolution ... you even got to drive the Polizia version ... big fun, naturally I've played this game on my PS3 too.

But now the NFS series will bring us 'the Run', a race from California to New York ... yep, on real, existings roads and in cities like Chicago, all the fun of the earlier games which were to be driven on fantasy roads now available on landmark streets ... some call it a combination of NFS Hot Pursuit and GTA ... I've only seen the trailers, and they are amazing.

There is one small catch however ... if you want to take the wheel of the magnificent Lamborghini Aventador you'll have to get the special Limited Edition version of the game, as this is the only one that adds this new Raging Bull to the game ... pre-order is available now, and I've put in mine already.

If all goes as planned over at Electronic Arts we will be seeing the first shipment of The Run on the shelves in the second half of November 2011 ... I for one am looking forward to this date.

Murcielago Final Edition LP720-4 wheelsandmore

Sure, the Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 has been unuveiled, so who would be interested in the outgoing model ? Most likely two kinds of persons, for one people looking to get into the Raging Bull scene but don't want to pay top dollar for a brand new car, but also people who can't bring up the patience to wait 12 months or more for their new car to arrive.

So you managed to get hold of one of those 350 Murciélago LP670-4 Super Veloce models, but still the Aventador with his 700 hp is lurking around the corner ... no problem, take a trip down to wheelsandmore and have your very own Final Edition LP720 built just for you.

Yep, you've got the figures right, this olive green beauty you can admire on this page pumps out no less than 720 hp, and yes, that's 20 more than the new Aventador ... which might not seem much, but still it's more, and that's important in the tuning scene.

First deliveries of the new Lamborghini Aventador are planned for the fourth quarter of 2011 in Europe, unfortunately the US will have to wait a little longer to receive the first customer cars, however dealers all over the world will be getting cars beforehand, but these are not to be sold to the public yet, so if you are looking for the next best thing, Wheelsandmore can deliver their Final Edition much earlier.

The factory original Murciélago Super Veloce isn't too bad delivering 670hp and no less than 660 lbs/ft of torque, but after a stay at wheelsandmore this very same car will be able to release 720hp and boost torque up to an impressive 700 lbs/ft ... figures that have been officially confirmed by dyno testing.

So how does this happen, think in the direction of a hand made, ultra high end exhaust system including stainless steel manifolds, a 200 cell sport catalyst and a remotely controlled valve system in the muffler coupled to modified software makes miracles come true boosting power beyond believe.

Power is nice, but we all know looks are at least as important, but wheelsandmore doesn't go overboard on customizing, just a stunning looking set of forged wheels by 6Sporz² measuring 8,5 inch at the front and a full 13 inch at the back, both 20 inch tall wearing Pirelli tires (what else) at 245/30 20 up front and 335/30 - 20 rear mounted.

Because the customer is important for wheelsandmore this specific LP720 has been finished in a nice dark olive paintjob, and just to make sure the message comes across they put skulls on the side at each door ... this car is not a wolf in sheeps clothes ... this is a predator ... and he likes to show it.

There is also a look at how the body is measured to make sure there are as little imperfections as possible in the full carbon fiber bodywork, truly amazing to get such an inside glimpse ... enjoy

SpaItalia 2011

Every year I try to visit the SpaItalia event on the famous F1 track in Belgium, normally I attend both Saturday and Sunday, but this year I couldn't make both days so I only drove down to Spa Francorchamps on Sunday ... and I was impressed with the number of Raging Bulls that were present, a very nice, varied collection of Lamborghini models were on display on the paddock.

This year Lamborgini Brussels was also present with a nice stand, no less than five Raging Bulls were on display, ranging from a classic Gallardo Spyder over a stunning LP570-4 Superleggera and a Murciélago LP640 right up to a rare dark grey Bicolore and a white Performante ... safe to say these beauties drew a lot of attention during SpaItalia.

This year SpaItalia celebrated De Tomaso as the Italian make, and naturally several Pantera, Longchamp and more classic models built by Alejandro De Tomaso were present, both as a static display and on the track, as SpaItalia is not only about show, most of the cars you can admire on the paddock later take on the track for a few spins on the famous F1 circuit.

But as much as I like a nice De Tomaso, my heart belongs to the Raging Bulls, so that's where I spent most of my Sunday, surrounded by cars like a classic Espada and it's smaller sibling the Jarama, but also three Urraco were present, two blue ones and a nice yellow one, both the early P250 variant and the younger P300 edition with the 3-Liter V8 engine.

There was no Jalpa, but many Gallardo took the drive to Spa, from the early 5.2 V10 models over their Spyder counterpart and Superleggera version right up to the current LP560-4 super car, in all kinds of shades from the sober grey to the bright orange metallic.

As nice as these cars are, most of the attention was grabbed by the select few V12 engines that were also there, the 40th Anniversary still remains an impressive car in his exclusive shade of green, and even better, a nice lavendar metallic Diablo SE30 was parked next to it, clearly showing the two limited edition V12 models. A more classic Diablo was parked near by, this one was finished in silver metallic and I'm sure I encountered these three V12 for some years now at SpaItalia.

If you know your Lamborghinis I'm sure you are aware of the legendary Miura V12, the first super car of it's kind for road use ... and a bright yellow P400 S model showed at in Spa, still one of the most sensual Raging Bulls ever made ... and a model that is becoming more and more appreciated over time judging by the staggering sales price of a Miura SV recently ... no less than $ 1.700.000 for a pristine sample, that's no pocket change in my opinion.

Remember the amazing looking Diablo SVR from earlier SpaItalia events ? Well the owner recently bought another Diablo, a bright white pearl metallic shade SV edition, this car looked really nice and was driven ferociously on the track. Later I noticed SVR style side skirts and I wouldn't be surprized he will mount a racing style rear wing on this car later on.

All in all the 2011 edition of SpaItalia was another success, some really amazing Raging Bulls were on show and from the other Italian car makers a stunning selection made their appearance in Spa ... I for one can't wait for their 2012 edition, and which Italian make they will celebrate next.

The Sesto Elemento is available now

The story has been going round online for some time now, the Lamborghini Sesto Elemento we were able to admire in Paris last year would enter, albeit limited, production. Some state at a price of €1.5 million, others state it will be a track day only car that is not street legal ... some sources even write Mr Winkelmann has confirmed production of this amazing looking, clear carbon fiber super car. One online broker even has it listed on his website, available for order ... but as long as Automobili Lamborghini SpA doesn't publish an official press release all the above is mere speculation, and as far as I know, at this moment you can not take delivery of a Sesto Elemento even if you had the cash.

Now that is a serious bummer naturally, but I went for the next best thing ... get a decent scale model of the car, that way I can admire it all day long, nicely tucked away behind glass to keep the dust away and still have some money to spare on other things.

The car on this page is the brand new 1/18 scale model made by MR Collection in a very limited production run, mine sits on the classic leather base but MR also offers it on a stunning carbon fiber base ... which suits this car very well as you might imagine.

I know some of you could park a real Lamborghini in your living room, but somehow I don't seem to be able to convince my wife this is a good idea, so I have to be happy with some scale cars in display cabinets, and therefore this amazing looking MR made Sesto Elemento joined six other Raging Bulls in 1/18 scale made by them, that's right, I already had all Lamborghini models made by MR in 1/18 (I prefer this larger scale over the smaller 1/43 collector scale), naturally their Reventon, after that the Reventon Roadster, but also the LP670-4 Murciélago SV and the China Edition of this Super Veloce. To top the list I also got the LP670-4 R-SV in original Reiter Engineering trim and in a stunning matt black ... and now the carbon fiber wrapped Sesto Elemento joins the club (note that I'm eagerly awaiting the MR made Aventador in 1/18 now ...)

What people often ask me : 'are these MR models worth the staggering price they demand, they are sealed body models, so why spend that much cash if you could get an AutoArt or a Kyosho for one third or even less money where all doors and hoods open ?'

And my answer is simple ... Yes ! Sure these are expensive, but what Lamborghini isn't right ? And yes these are sealed body model, nothing opens on them, so what, at least that way I don't get dust inside the car and both the interior and engine are still highly detailed anyway. But the most important reason for me to buy these models is the fact they are mostly available years ahead of any other model car builder. Take the Reventon Roadster for instance ... MR is still the only one that has built it, also the Murciélago LP670-4 Super Veloce ... both Norev and AutoArt are talking about it for ages, but none of them can be bought at this time while I've been admiring both my glossy white SV and my China Edition for over 12 months already.

But back to the Sesto Elemento now, as the real car isn't available for purchase at this time, and even when it will become available only a select few will be able to buy it, one because of it's price and two because it will be a limited edition anyway ... so getting a high profile scale model like the MR version isn't such a bad idea after all ... it's still a lot cheaper, and it doesn't take up that much space in the garage ...

Unique prototype sold during auction at Villa d'Este

At the Villa d'Este event on Saturday May 21. 2011 RM Auctions was able to offer some extremely important prototypes made by Bertone, sadly the Bertone heirs weren't able to safe these unique cars from the curator hence they became available to the public at this auction.

Lot 109 was the well known Athon prototype, powered by a Jalpa sourced V8 engine, this open super car (there was no roof available to be honest) was offered in original condition in the same paint it was unveiled back in 1980 at the Turin Motor Show. It was valued at €150.000 to € 220.000 but managed to receive a bid of € 347.200 when the hammer came down.

The next Lot nr 110 was the magnificent Bravo prototype, a smaller entry level model to be positioned next to the Countach back in 1974 and taking sides with the Urraco. The Bravo received a 300 Bhp 3-Liter V8 engine and some amazing styling, especially the glass parts of this car looked out of this world ... a nice addition to the already stupendous looking Countach.

But things turned out differently, and the Bravo never went into production, it remained at Bertone where it received several restoration attempts, originally this concept was finished in a light yellow metallic shade, but later it was repainted in a dark green metallic to be taken in for a minor overhaul and another repaint into the current pearl metallic white. At this moment the Bravo is in very good condition and therefore it was valued at € 150.000 to € 220.000 before going to auction ... where it would fetch a winning bid of € 588.000, a nice price for such a unique car in the history of Lamborghini.

The next lot featuring a Lamborghini was number 112 ... the one of a kind Marzal, the concept that would eventually become the Espada in production, the first real four seat Raging Bull. The Marzal received half the engine of the Miura, hence a six cylinder, mounted at the rear and putting only 175 bhp on the rear wheels.

With it's upward opening, gullwing style doors almost entirely made from glass, it looked very futuristic to say the least, this prototype was designed by Marcello Gandini when he was in the middle of the 'hexagon' styling period ... a unique car valued at no less than € 1.000.000 to € 1.800.000 it was able to reach a maximum bid of € 1.512.000 ... what made the Marzal even more special was the fact the 'split' Miura V12 engine fitted to this car is also a one of a kind, no other 6 cylinder engine was ever made by Automobili Lamborghini SpA.

Perhaps not a Lamborghini, but still a very important and equally impressive car that was sold was the Lancia Stratos HF Zero, an extremely futuristic looking super car powered by a V4 engine that managed 115 Bhp from only 1584 cc displacement. This stunner was also valued at € 1.000.000 to € 1.800.000 like the Lamborghini Marzal above ... but sadly the Stratos only managed a maximum bid of € 761.600 ... at which is was still sold.

New Aventador videos published

Ever since the introduction of the brand new Lamborghini flagship, the Aventador LP700-4 in Geneva in early March 2011 several video clips, teasers and movies have made it onto the internet featuring this amazing new model from Sant'Agata ... we feel it's about time to put the best together on one page for all those Raging Bull enthusiasts out there.

First we'll take a look at the original teaser shown during the 2011 edition of the Geneva Auto Show, after that a look at the apocalyptic commercial made by Automobili Lamborghini to promote the Aventador even further ... even if this model doesn't need any further help selling at this moment as the entire production run for 2011 and 2012 is just about sold out completely already.

After the commercial we take a look behind the scenes on how this amazing looking movie was actually made and we conclude with a drive on the streets of Rome where several Aventador models were shown to the public

UK based AutoCAR was able to test drive the Aventador

One of the first test drivers not executed by official Lamborghini pilots was performed by UK based AutoCAR, Steve Sutcliffe made it absolutely clear what this new Raging Bull actually stands for when he said "not perhaps the most ethical car, but easily one of the fastest cars we'll test this year and definately one of the loudest".

The comment he made when the white Lamborghini Aventador accelerates away from a standstill next to mr Sutcliffe had to be 'beeped' from the soundtrack ... who can blame them with such an amazing looking car that has the performance to match those amazing looks.

After a tour on the open road, AutoCAR is also able to take the LP700-4 on the track and try to figure out where the limits on this brand new flagship might be ... is Steve able to touch the limits of the Aventador ?

The international presentation of the new Lamborghini Aventador

Today, at a press conference held at the Campidoglio, the Mayor of Rome Gianni Alemanno and the President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini, Stephan Winkelmann, announced that from April 26th to May 8th, Roma Capitale will star in a great new event to promote the "Made in Italy".

On the 150th anniversary of Italy's unification, Lamborghini chooses Rome as the main stage for the international presentation of its brand-new super sports car, Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4, created in Italy but destined to be revered and appreciated all over the world, as confirmed by the orders received so far, which have already overcome 12 months' production.

To offer visual support to such announcement, one specimen of the new Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 has been put on display right outside the Campidoglio.

Over a period of two weeks in springtime Rome, the Bull from Sant'Agata Bolognese will become the true protagonist. A series of fascinating initiatives are scheduled to take place in the capital city in order to entertain Romans and tourists alike on the occasion of the Easter festivities.

Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 is the latest addition to the super sports line-up by the Italian prestigious brand and is also the fastest and more powerful mass-produced Lamborghini ever created.

Building on an impressive tradition including models such as Miura, Countach, Diablo and Murciélago, the new vehicle, fitted with a twelve-cylinder engine, represents the new benchmark for the super sports car sector, not only for its outstanding speed performance but also because of a significant 20% reduction in CO2 emissions compared to its predecessor.

In partnership with Roma Capitale, Automobili Lamborghini has planned a wide range of initiatives aimed at enhancing an important piece of Italy's manufacturing history :

- A temporary museum dedicated to Lamborghini will be set up inside the Chiostro del Bramante (Bramante's Cloister) from April 26th to May 8th. It will be open to the public, completely free of charge, every day from 10 am to 6 pm. Through a collection of unique documents and photographs of the time, visitors will have the opportunity to retrace the amazing history of the company, established by Ferruccio Lamborghini back in 1963.

A selection of engines will also be displayed along with, of course, the Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4.

The area overlooking the Bramante's Cloister will undergo a requalification intervention promoted by Automobili Lamborghini.

- A parade featuring 10 Lamborghini vehicles, five Aventador LP 700-4 and five historic models coming from the collection of the Lamborghini museum (350 GT, Miura, Countach, Diablo and Murciélago) will start from Piazza del Campidoglio, with the official go ahead by the Mayor himself Gianni Alemanno and Lamborghini's President Stephen Winkelmann.

After a 9 km route across Rome's city center, closely escorted by the Municipal police, the 10 Lamborghini vehicles will arrive to Villa Borghese's park to conclude the parade at Casina Valadier where a cocktail reception will entertain authorities and media representatives.

The parade will take place on April 26th, with vehicles gathering at the Campidoglio at 10 am and departure at 11 am.

- A temporary Collezione Lamborghini store will be set up inside Scuderie Rispoli at via Fontanella Borghese 56/B. The shop will be open to the public from April 21st to May 8th from 9 am to 8 pm.

After the opening of flagship stores in prestigious locations such as Los Angeles, Hong Kong, Melbourne and Berlin, finally in Rome too, it will be possible to purchase products from the sport-chic range inspired by the three fundamental values of the Italian brand: extreme, without compromises and Italian.

The shop will be proposing trendy items to suit any requirement a Lamborghini enthusiast may have. An Aventador LP 700-4 will be displayed here as well.

Over 150 journalists and nearly 200 dealership managers from 45 countries worldwide, subdivided into 10 groups, will be invited by Lamborghini to attend this special event in Rome.

They will stay at the Westin Excelsior Hotel at via Veneto and will have the unique opportunity to test drive the new vehicle at the Autodromo Vallelunga "Piero Taruffi" racing circuit.

To such purpose, Mayor Alemanno commented: "Lamborghini is an icon of the 'Made in Italy' tradition and this event confirms Rome's ability to welcome the entrepreneurial world and offer a wonderful platform for showcasing Italy's design and technology excellence".

Stephan Winkelmann commented: "the new Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 is a milestone in Lamborghini's history and represents a two-generation leap into future of the automotive industry.

Having the opportunity to launch our new model in Rome, with such a great involvement from the whole city, and especially from its Mayor, is a great recognition for all Lamborghini's employees who over the last four years worked with enthusiasm and dedication to develop this vehicle".

Interest in Aventador LP700-4 continues

The revolutionary Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4, unveiled to the public at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this month, has achieved sales representing far more than one year's production also due to strong motor show reception. That momentum, which began at VIP customer previews in late-2010, now continues at www.Aventador.com, where brand enthusiasts have the opportunity to configure the high-tech, lightweight Aventador's exterior and interior color to their preference, while viewing the newest brand film teasing the €255,000 flagship.

"Interest in the Aventador has been unprecedented and we have orders for far more than one year. Before customer deliveries begin in the second half of 2011, customers and brand enthusiasts can visit the Aventador microsite to receive a glimpse into the wealth of personalization opportunities available with the new V12 super sports car,” said Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A. “Although we prefer to leave the complete customization process to a one-on-one experience with a Lamborghini retailer, the microsite is the perfect interactive tool for enthusiasts who want to test different options and styles for a truly personalized Lamborghini."

The microsite also features full technical specifications, standard equipment, options and a full directory of official Lamborghini dealerships around the globe.

The Aventador LP 700-4 is the sixth generation Lamborghini V12 model. The stunning vehicle redefines the pinnacle of the luxury super sports car market, combining high power, outstanding lightweight engineering and phenomenal handling precision. Its innovative monocoque made entirely from carbon fiber results in a low dry weight of only 3,472 pounds (1.575 kilos) – a 199 pound (90 kilos) weight-savings versus its predecessor. Combined with this low weight, the Aventador’s new 700 horsepower V12 engine and Independent Shift Rod transmission provide breathtaking performance – 0-100 Km/h (0-62 mph) acceleration in just 2.9 seconds and a top speed of 350 Km/h (217 mph). A Formula 1-inspired pushrod suspension and all-wheel drive system provide precise handling and stability at the very highest speeds.

Lamborghini Miura SV from 1971 most expensive Bull ever

After being showcased on the Geneva Auto Show as the latest and bravest evolution of the legendary Lamborghini Miura, this yellow SV or Sport Veloce version was sold to a lucky customer in Italy, later on he made a German based owner very happy before this very car was obtained by a citizen of the United States who had it completely restored.

This very car was able to secure third place in the renowned Pebble Beach concorso among the best Raging Bull from all over the world, a tribute to the magnificent workmanship that went into rebuilding this ultimate Miura evolution.

The Miura SV was the swansong of the Miura range before the amazing Countach would take over, only 150 were ever built making this one of the most sought after Raging Bulls ever, hence these are demanding some serious money to obtain these days.

When the Amelia Island auction hammer came down the amount of hard earned cash was up at a healthy USD 1,700,000 ... making this specific beauty the most expensive Miura ever changing hands at that moment ... it if it wasn't for a Ferrari 212 Export Cabriolet that went for no less than $1,87 Million it would have been the highest selling car at that auction ... well second place isn't bad for this unique piece of Lamborghini history I guess.

SwissRacingTeam rolls out Lamborghini Murciélago GT1 car

Only two more weeks before the first race of the FIA GT1 World Championship for 2011 will start in Abu Dhabi, and the Swiss Racing Team (SRT in Inwil) rolled out two amazing raging bull that will compete in the series this year.

Both cars are still 'plain body' units for now, but I'm sure these will be covered with sponsors over the next two weeks, but back to the roll out in France were both Karl Wenlinger and Max Nilsson could get eye to eye with their new race cars.

The first test sessions went smoothly, without any problems under an open sky with lots of sunshine and dry track conditions, a perfect setting to get acquainted with these Raging Bulls by clocking some test kilometers in optimum conditions on an uncluttered circuit.

At this moment both cars are being prepared for transport by airplane to the UAE (United Arab Emirates) were the two initial drivers will be accompanied by two more pilots whose names will be communicated soon by SRT.

Othmar Welti, team principal for SRT, was very happy with these first tests, the team at Reiter Engineering created another masterpiece specifically for GT1 racing and delivered the cars in pristine condition to SRT who drove Nissan in a non-satisfying 2010 season by the way … Mr Welti even stated : “we are very happy with the rollout … I am confident that the Lamborghini provide a good base for being more successful than last season.”

At the moment neither of these two Raging Bulls have been thoroughly tested due to lack of time, but the first real taste of the massive potential of these Lamborghini will be obtained on March 23rd during the tests in Abu Dhabi … over the previous weeks times have been difficult to put the change to Lamborghini on track, but in the end it all worked out perfectly and both the team and the cars are ready to go head to head with the fierce competition in the 2011 FIA GT1 World Championship.

Gallardo Tricolore

Italy is celebrating 150 years of unification and to draw some more attention to this fact Automobili Lamborghini SpA will be building yet another special edition based on the successful Gallardo model, the 'Tricolore' ... a special model that will feature the well known flag of Italy proudly on it's bodywork.

A green, white and red stripe will start at the front of the car and go over the hood, roof and engine cover all the way to the back of the car, on a white bodywork with amazing looking carbon fiber exterior rear view mirrors this results in a very nice and clean look for this latest V10 model.

Stephan Winkelmann, CEO of Lamborghini, stated "with this special Tricolore version of our most successful model we give a further impulse to the 'Made in Italy' label around the world". Also note that the famous Tricolore, which is the symbolic name of the Italian flag by the way, is also present on the seats inside, similar to the stripes inside the LP550-2 Valentino Balboni special.

On March 16. 2011 a special exhibition dedicated to the Italian unity anniversary will see the official introduction of the Gallardo Tricolore, at which time Automobili Lamborghini SpA will also unveil the exact specifications and details on this new version, at this time it is unknown if the Tricolore will be a limited editon model or not, but if production is numbered our guess will be only 150 will be built.

Judging by the only photograph available at this time it looks like the Tricolore is based on the LP560-4 model just like the Bicolore edition introduced recently, so we could expect details to be along the way of the regular model, a top speed of 325 Km/h from the 560 Bhp engine with acceleration figures of only 3.7 seconds to reach 100 Km/h.

Lamborghini to Unveil Ultimate Gallardo at IAA 2011

More details emerged about the mysterious Lamborghini “super sports car” which will be unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show next month.

According to Auto Express the V10 powered Gallardo is set to goes out with a bang. The British motoring magazine has learned that the Italian manufacturer of sport cars will officially present the most hardcore Gallardo ever produced.

The Gallardo is Lamborghini’s most-produced model to date, with over 10,000 built. The final version of the successful Gallardo will be a roadgoing version of the limited Super Trofeo racing car, designed for the brands one-make racing series

Only 30 units of the track version Gallardo Super Trofeo has been made. This car is based on the Gallardo LP 560-4 sports car, but has been upgraded via a reworked chassis, improved aerodynamics and race suspension. The track version of the Gallardo also features the six-speed E-gear paddleshift transmission. The Super Trofeo is powered by 5.2 liter V10 which offers 562hp. Thanks to the expensive use of composite materials the weight of this car is 1,300kg, which is 110kg lighter than the standard Gallardo and 40kg less than the Superleggera.

The ultimate version of the Gallardo which will be unveiled in Frankfurt next month will built following the same philosophy. This would suggest that the final and very limited version of the Gallardo will be more powerful, lighter and more aggressive than any other road going Gallardo. An acceleration of 0-100km/h would be done in three seconds, the top speed would be somewhere near the 340km/h.

The Gallardo will be replaced next year by a car named the Cabrera. Additionaly, Lamborghini is planning a roadster version of the Aventador which will be unveiled towards the end of 2012.

Aventador LP700

This is the LB834 ... new better known as the Aventador, the latest and bravest from Sant'Agata, and again this is a true Raging Bull straight from the breeding grounds in Italy. This new flagship will succeed the Murciélago, and because of the sometimes difficult to pronounce name Automobili Lamborghini SpA went for a more straight forward naming this time.

However, rest assured, the name Aventador is again taken from bullfighting, what else, this seems to be a bull from only a few years ago, the early Nineties to be exact, apparently this fierce creature fought in Spain before it will be remembered forever in the shape of the new Italian super car that will shape the future of Lamborghini for years to come … note that an LB834 Roadster is already in the making and should be unveiled within a year or so.

The shots of the press release car are also showing a brand new shade that is now available, Arancio Argos, a name taken from the similar shade oranges grown in the south of Greece … it sure looks impressive in this color, even standing still you can only imagine the brutal force at hand when you slide behind the steering wheel and launch that brand new V12 engine behind you.

We already know this new model uses a carbon fiber monocoque cell to house the happy driver and it’s even happier passenger, stiffness of this cell is over double compared to the Murciélago it is replacing, do note that this cell is built in house at Lamborghini in a brand new factory that is able to produce up to 800 units per year … which works out perfectly as about 600 Murciélago units were built each year in the last decade, so being able to produce 800 Aventadors would be just right to keep the car scarce enough on the open road.

When looking at the Aventador you can clearly recognize some serious family resemblance with the limited edition Reventon (especially at the rear) but also parts of the Estoque concept car can be seen in this 21st century super car. Note that the Aventador is lighter than the Murciélago, a bit longer and ever so slightly narrower but the height remains the same, add to this the power increase to no less than 691 hp in this new L539 engine and you end up with some pretty amazing figures, the power to weight ratio is right up there with the competition from Bugatti and Pagani … however the new Lamborghini Aventador comes in at about 1/3 their price tag.

It is clear that with the Aventador Lamborghini is setting the benchmark very high, even in house, it is now safe to say the magnificent Aventador will be running circles around the Gallardo, the latter still being an amazing car, but at this moment nothing comes close to the brutal beauty and power of the brand new flagship.

First deliveries into the United States are set for October, still a few months from now, but I’m sure the order book for this powerful Raging Bull will fill up quickly, this is a car that will secure the future of Automobili Lamborghini SpA for years to come, with a Roadster version only a year away and several other evolutions in the pipeline like a GT-R version or a SuperVeloce edition to name a few, the Aventador is the perfect car to succeed the Murciélago.

Lamborghini Aventador LP700

Over the last weeks several images of the new Lamborghini flagship have surfaced on the internet, most of them still with some kind of camouflage on the car, but recently a magazine published the first shots of a red Aventador ahead of the official unveiling at the Geneva Auto Show.

But now things get serious … with work at the Geneva Auto Show underway for the grand press conference on Tuesday, March 1st 2011 somebody was able to get away with photographing a grey LP700-4 on the stand … without any more covers, we can see the actual car three days too early.

This one is a grey finished model with light wheels, while the magazine car was red with black wheels, the grilles and rubber parts are covered with protective tape on these shots because the car still needs to be fully detailed before we will be able to see it in a few days … in the background we can discover a white car by the way … so there will be at least two cars on display on the ground floor, probably a third will be shown on the first floor, only open on invitation or to VIP.

This is the first time a brand new Lamborghini could be photographed on the stand ahead of the official introduction, and it is an important model this time, the long awaited successor to the by now legendary Murciélago. The Aventador has some serious promised to upkeep, with its carbon fiber monocoque cell and race inspired suspension setup, this new V12 is a serious step ahead in the history of Automobili Lamborghini SpA.

More detailed, high resolution images of the cars on the Lamborghini stand in Geneva will be available in a few days, for now we’ll have to make do with this shots.

TechDay Lightweight Design

Automobili Lamborghini SpA is about to write history on the future of super cars for years to come, their new full carbon fiber monocoque is only one of many steps to create the most extreme dynamics in exotic cars and at the same time lower emissions ... the new flagship that will be unveiled at the 2011 Geneva Auto Show is the first to show this new carbon fiber technology used on the full monocoque construction.

The superiority of the Raging Bull is again fortified with this new V12 model, completely built by Automobili Lamborghini it only shows once again the expertise gathered over the last years in CFRP technology (Carbon fiber reinforced plastics). The extensive knowledge on this production process makes Lamborghini the first make to put this technology in series production on the Murciélago successor.

Do note that this entire production process is executed to the highest possible standards and has been developed by Lamborghini in-house. From the design and simulation over engineering and prototyping to extreme testing, validation and final production in a state-of-the-art facility the result are the highest standards on the market … effectively starting a new chapter in the history of Automobili Lamborghini SpA.

A brand new plant has been built at Sant’Agata, totaling over 5000 sq. meter, this is the place where the LP700’s monocoque will be built using the RTM-Lambo technology, a patented production method that actually uses carbon fiber molds to create the various parts that are needed to form the single monocoque cell.

However aluminum is still heavily used too, the sub-frames that hold both the front and rear pushrod suspension, the brand new V12 engine and the magnificent, extremely fast shifting ISR transmission are still being fabricated in lightweight aluminum.

For the first time Automobili Lamborghini SpA has published more photographs on their new flagship … still not the entire car, but two shots clearly show the rolling chassis of the LP700-4 with the monocoque installed, some details can already be seen in these shots … however more interesting is the photograph of the inside of the carbon fiber plant … if you look closer at the top left corner you’ll notice a complete car with body panels in the shot.

Next week we’ll finally be able to see the Murciélago successor on the stand at the Geneva Auto Show, I’ve heard no less than three units will be on display … can’t wait to get eye to eye with them …

Gallardo LP570-4 Singapore Limited Edition

We’ve only recently received word of the Gallardo Bicolore, a limited edition model based on the successful LP560 model and now we get images of yet another special model of the V10 Raging Bull, this time the Singapore Limited Edition, to be built only 10 times, each with a serial number on a special plaque.

Why yet another limited edition you might ask ? Well this one is actually to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of Lamborghini Singapore, and there is even more, this car will only be available in black or white and for each of them sold Lamborghini Singapore will donate S$20,000 to the Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund (SPMF) … in total offering S$200,000 for those students that are less fortunate to be able to go to school anyway.

These ten cars have been specially commissioned by the Lamborghini factory to be sold on the Singapore market only, available in either black or white these Gallardo cars distinct themselves from the regular LP570-4 Superleggera by using red stripes on the side and different wheels, in fact the same wheels as on the Bicolore model. There is also a small plaque on the side of the car with a Merlion logo stating this to be the Singapore Limited Edition.

In the end it took three months to finalize this concept, Mr Melvin Goh, managing director of Lamborghini Singapore negotiated directly with the factory in Sant’Agata … in mid February 2011 a special gala dinner was held in the well-known Mandarin Oriental in Singapore during which the keys to the first two cars in this series were given to their new, fortunate owners.

Apparently these cars look like an evolution of the LP570-4 Superleggera, however their specifications show a Max power of 550 hp at 8000 rpm which could mean these are actually LP550-2 models with the front spoiler, side skirts and small rear wing of the Superleggera mounted.

However we received no information that these are rear wheel drive only, still they reach a top speed of 320 Km/h and reach 100 Km/h from standstill in a mere 3.9 seconds … figures that leave no doubt, these Gallardo Singapore Limited Edition are still true blooded Raging Bulls.
