The international presentation of the new Lamborghini Aventador

Today, at a press conference held at the Campidoglio, the Mayor of Rome Gianni Alemanno and the President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini, Stephan Winkelmann, announced that from April 26th to May 8th, Roma Capitale will star in a great new event to promote the "Made in Italy".

On the 150th anniversary of Italy's unification, Lamborghini chooses Rome as the main stage for the international presentation of its brand-new super sports car, Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4, created in Italy but destined to be revered and appreciated all over the world, as confirmed by the orders received so far, which have already overcome 12 months' production.

To offer visual support to such announcement, one specimen of the new Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 has been put on display right outside the Campidoglio.

Over a period of two weeks in springtime Rome, the Bull from Sant'Agata Bolognese will become the true protagonist. A series of fascinating initiatives are scheduled to take place in the capital city in order to entertain Romans and tourists alike on the occasion of the Easter festivities.

Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 is the latest addition to the super sports line-up by the Italian prestigious brand and is also the fastest and more powerful mass-produced Lamborghini ever created.

Building on an impressive tradition including models such as Miura, Countach, Diablo and MurciƩlago, the new vehicle, fitted with a twelve-cylinder engine, represents the new benchmark for the super sports car sector, not only for its outstanding speed performance but also because of a significant 20% reduction in CO2 emissions compared to its predecessor.

In partnership with Roma Capitale, Automobili Lamborghini has planned a wide range of initiatives aimed at enhancing an important piece of Italy's manufacturing history :

- A temporary museum dedicated to Lamborghini will be set up inside the Chiostro del Bramante (Bramante's Cloister) from April 26th to May 8th. It will be open to the public, completely free of charge, every day from 10 am to 6 pm. Through a collection of unique documents and photographs of the time, visitors will have the opportunity to retrace the amazing history of the company, established by Ferruccio Lamborghini back in 1963.

A selection of engines will also be displayed along with, of course, the Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4.

The area overlooking the Bramante's Cloister will undergo a requalification intervention promoted by Automobili Lamborghini.

- A parade featuring 10 Lamborghini vehicles, five Aventador LP 700-4 and five historic models coming from the collection of the Lamborghini museum (350 GT, Miura, Countach, Diablo and MurciƩlago) will start from Piazza del Campidoglio, with the official go ahead by the Mayor himself Gianni Alemanno and Lamborghini's President Stephen Winkelmann.

After a 9 km route across Rome's city center, closely escorted by the Municipal police, the 10 Lamborghini vehicles will arrive to Villa Borghese's park to conclude the parade at Casina Valadier where a cocktail reception will entertain authorities and media representatives.

The parade will take place on April 26th, with vehicles gathering at the Campidoglio at 10 am and departure at 11 am.

- A temporary Collezione Lamborghini store will be set up inside Scuderie Rispoli at via Fontanella Borghese 56/B. The shop will be open to the public from April 21st to May 8th from 9 am to 8 pm.

After the opening of flagship stores in prestigious locations such as Los Angeles, Hong Kong, Melbourne and Berlin, finally in Rome too, it will be possible to purchase products from the sport-chic range inspired by the three fundamental values of the Italian brand: extreme, without compromises and Italian.

The shop will be proposing trendy items to suit any requirement a Lamborghini enthusiast may have. An Aventador LP 700-4 will be displayed here as well.

Over 150 journalists and nearly 200 dealership managers from 45 countries worldwide, subdivided into 10 groups, will be invited by Lamborghini to attend this special event in Rome.

They will stay at the Westin Excelsior Hotel at via Veneto and will have the unique opportunity to test drive the new vehicle at the Autodromo Vallelunga "Piero Taruffi" racing circuit.

To such purpose, Mayor Alemanno commented: "Lamborghini is an icon of the 'Made in Italy' tradition and this event confirms Rome's ability to welcome the entrepreneurial world and offer a wonderful platform for showcasing Italy's design and technology excellence".

Stephan Winkelmann commented: "the new Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 is a milestone in Lamborghini's history and represents a two-generation leap into future of the automotive industry.

Having the opportunity to launch our new model in Rome, with such a great involvement from the whole city, and especially from its Mayor, is a great recognition for all Lamborghini's employees who over the last four years worked with enthusiasm and dedication to develop this vehicle".
